My 16 year old son is a hoarder collector of many things.
Moreover, he has a unique vision for these collectibles!
He sees potential where Mom sees trash.
treasures gathered while scavenging through storm drains
(though he did find $20 once!)
animal bones (don't ask...even I didn't ask!)
movie tickets, rocks, etc.
In addition, he really likes to hold on to the
things he's collected.
ALL OF THEM!
So, when he decided to start collecting
Classic Rock record albums...
I was okay with it!
Now it was the time for the shelf I'd been planning
to put up ever since we moved into the house 4yrs ago!
Nothing fancy, just a simple, easy shelf!
8" boards stained and cut to fit the space.
And 4 brackets from Lowes with a nickle finish.
We mounted the brackets to studs and
placed the shelf 16" from where the wall meets the
bend of the ceiling leaving plenty of room for 12x12 albums...
Plus, whatever else might make it's way up there over time!
My sincere hope is that a post on the rest of his room will be
VERY, VERY, SOON!
Time for #1 son to clean his room!
Mom needs to take pictures!
Another project checked off the list!
Hope you're collecting Very Blessed Days!
Sonya

I got rid of a whole bunch of these last year when we were prepping our house for sale! Do you mean they are "in" again?
ReplyDeleteSo cute.
ReplyDeleteMy daughters are collectors too. I want to go through their rooms and toss out so much, because their rooms begin to feel cluttered, but I stop myself. They love this stuff! Someday those rooms are going to be empty and I'm going long for the moments when I vacuum up rocks, dust around dried up flowers and leaves and organize the Happy Meal toys. :)
When Gar told me he bought a bunch of records and put them on the wall I thought to myself "yea right, Mom won't let him hang those"-- haha I was wrong! You need to talk him into updating his bulletin board though, it's sad and old and filled with random old things. New pictures please!
ReplyDeleteThe shelf and the albums look great! He does have a fantastic room; you need to share!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to that, my son is a "collector" too !
ReplyDeleteI think the albums look fantastic. I love the stain you chose for the wood. I'm much more brutal with my kids' collections, maybe I should ease up and just let them be.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! The joys of having a teenager I get to look forward to! Also whoohoo! I can leave comments again! Still loving the new look!
ReplyDeleteI am smiling. My girl collect beautiful bottles~ie TRASH! Loves her albums and books. She always is asking for more shelves. :)

ReplyDeleteLove the shelves! His room looks pretty cool with his collections! At least he collects things that make attractive displays! Wish I had a solution for my 7 year old daughter's stuffed animal collection!!
