Double Ruffle Box Pillow

When I think of making a new pillow, my first thought is "which details to use today?"  Huge, gorgeous ruffle? two ruffles? fringe? piping? one fabric? two fabrics? bunches of fabrics?...the list goes on.
The style I'm showing you today is one of my favorites (but then again most of them are favorites), the Double Ruffle Box Pillow. I'm not sure, but I may have just made that name up.
Several years ago, when my two oldest girls still lived at home and shared a room, I made two of these pillows. One for each of their beds. The pillow measures approximately 24" square, with a 2" boxing (hence the name) and 1.5" double ruffles. The insert is a 26" feather.
During their college years, somehow Kaleigh ended up with both pillows. Courtney, still not sure how this happened, is quite frustrated by the fact. (First they fight over toys and now pillows.) The pillows now reside in Kaleigh's living room on her vintage, absolutely adorable, stunning in it's original condition, I wish I'd seen it first, Craig's List sofa.

Here's a sneak peek (because I don't know WHEN I'll be ready for a reveal) of pillows I recently made for my bedroom in this style.
A tip: to keep in mind if you'd like to try this style. Due to the boxing, the size of your pillow insert needs to be larger than the actual pillow cover size. For instance, my pillow inserts were 26" with the pillow cover a 24" square. You could probably even use a 26" feather in a 22-23" pillow cover if you like a tight fit.

This pillow was inspired by pillows seen at Carolyn Westbrook Home.
Love her style!
What's your favorite pillow?

Besides that we just skipped straight to clothing:) and now pillows! (It's useless she's never getting them back; they match my couch perfectly!)
