Color in the bathroom is a lovely idea. There is a trend toward neutrals and whites in our bathrooms but this can lead to a very neutral room that lacks energy. We're happy to share several beautiful bathrooms that embrace color on the walls, floors and in home accessories. Be bold or subtle, but be beautiful in living color.

For color in the bathroom, soft pastels that work well with shabby chic whites are a lovely idea. Paint walls and shelves the same color for a unified look. Love the button trim on the shelf...so charming.

Soft blues are beautiful in a bathroom. Pale blues are so calming, especially when they have grey undertones with a touch of colorful table decoration.

Warm colors, like orange, yellow and reds, make for a warm, inviting bathroom. Mixed with loads of white or cream, these colors feel cheerful and fresh.

Bold colors, like turquoise, can feel modern or shabby chic depending on the wall art and accessories that accompany it. Deep rose would also look beautiful in this bathroom.

Deep wall colors in a bathroom add drama. To balance the dark color, use white (and lots of it) to brighten the room.

Multiple colors in similar hues creates a beautiful layered look in the bathroom. Pick a range of the same color or chose adjacent colors on the color wheel, like this pink, salmon and orange bathroom with its unexpected white wall decor.
