Coffee or grain sack designs are showing up all over the place. The graphics make them so fun to experiment on different projects. Slowly but surely I'm working my way through the collection of coffee sacks I purchased months ago.
I have to admit I LOVE this way this project turned out. I thought the graphics on this particular coffee sack would translate well to a tote bag and I'm very pleased with the way it turned out.

This tote measures 17"x14.5" with the 3" sides cut to include additional graphics.
I used a faux-leather lined with denim for the handles and a natural colored heavy cotton for the lining. The periwinkle blue stripe is actually woven in the burlap.
This tote is currently available in The Shop.
Another coffee sack project was this runner, made for Debbie at Debbiedoo's. A few weeks ago Debbie contacted be about making a runner for her newly redecorated laundry room.
Debbie wanted to use this runner on top of her dog Lucy's cage which she keeps in the laundry room. She wanted it fun and playful with lots of color. After thinking over several different options, we decided to use one of the colorful coffee sacks I had with a bright and fun floral ruffle gathered on each end.
In order to get the width I needed to cover her dog cage I added additional graphics, taken from the original coffee sack, to each end.
Visit Debbie to see how it looks in her freshly updated laundry room!
Thank you, Debbie!
