Decorating Ideas from IMS

Today, I'm sharing more details from the IMS medical building I was privileged to style. I'm hoping that some of these unique pieces or ideas will spark an idea for your own home!
The black, distressed dresser, shown here, is part of a hallway seating arrangement near both offices and exam rooms. The finish gives it the feel of a hand painted one-of-a-kind dresser.

Wendy, the owner of IMS, has a decided love of birds, nature and vintage inspired decor. You'll find this theme throughout many of the pieces she chose for the new medical facility.
For example, this adorable piece of bird art hangs in one of 14 exams rooms at IMS.
The printed burlap bird canvas is wrapped around a simple wood frame. This piece sparked ideas for me.
By constructing a similar wood frame and combining a bit of creativity with burlap you could create your own large piece of art quite inexpensively. I'm filing this idea away for future use.
In the hallway is a cathedral style mirror paired with a basket of gorgeous florals. Wendy had her mother, Rene, create all the floral arrangements. Notice how Rene tucked the crinkled, chocolate brown fabric within the arrangement for additional stability and fullness.
One of the exam rooms at IMS.
One of the 17 window treatments created for this building.
For 9 of the 17 windows we used this large print paired with a turquoise solid. The styles varied from this swag treatment, long panels and the valance shown above.
Metal numbers, which once belonged to a clock face, were used to designate exam rooms. The hole, originally intended to hang the number, was covered with a tiny crystal using E-6000 glue. The numbers were attached to the doors using adhesive backed velcro.
A painted accent table.

Hope you enjoyed seeing a bit more if the IMS building.

  6. Stacey, Thank you! Wendy and I shopped together for a lot of the accessories but she was the driving force behind the choices. I was blessed with the fun of pulling it all together! The bird lamp is made by a company called Creative Co-op. Their items can be found online, home decor and gift shops.
