My Age Old Question of Color vs Neutral

I ADORE this bedroom!!!
I think it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
I can't seem to list what I like about it most, but if I HAD
to narrow it down I'd say the ceiling and the bedding.
I spied this wonderful room over at Velvet and Linen.
Take the time and go visit Brooke Gianetti at her blog.
Believe me...you will find inspiration on EVERY page!
She is a wonderfully talented designer.
And take a look at this!!!  Is this not scrumptious?
I LOVE this bedding!
You can find this over at The Willows Home and Garden another
great blog connected to a great store!

So here we are with my dilemma.
 I like COLOR!
Lots of PATTERN and lots of COLOR!!!
So while I love color... I am still drawn to bedrooms
like the two pictured above!

Below are a few photos of my
current bedroom, which I still like.
(Oh, by the way...I LOVE pillows!)
Look at this cute lampshade!
(You'll probably see it again with a possible tutorial!)
This is one of my favorite fabrics.
Again, I love pillows!
Okay, so what's a girl to do!!!
I'm ready for a change but will I be happy with a neutral scheme?
I'm sure thinking about it!
And of course, you guys will be the first
to see this bedroom transformation!
Don't know when...
But it's sure on the "to do list" in my mind!!!

Have a Colorful and Blessed Day!

  1. Can I have some of your energy and creativity? I love your bedroom, and I think the neutral bedrooms are great, too. I'm sure if you do neutral, it won't be anything close to bland!

  2. I love the lighting in the neutral bedroom! And that bedding is just gorgeous. Your bedroom is beautiful and I think that lamp with the flowers on the shade is just precious!

  4. Sonya, I'm with you on the color thing. I love the look of neutrals, but when the rubber hits the road, I go for color. I hope you will link this post and your prior Boho one to Fabric Fun Thursday. Have you thought about the tutorial on your lampshade? It's one of the featured links. Stop by and pick up your button later tonight :).

  7. I am with you and love rooms like the ones in the pics but like you I love color as well! I do not think I could do a totally neutral room. At least not right now with two lil' boys. Maybe once they are grown and moved out!Ha!

  8. I am so tired..will you come and decorate for me. Nothing has changed since you left me and probably want for ohhhhh..about 10 years. I have lost my creative spark. I figure by the time I have the $$$ and energy everything will have come back around to what I have right now, maybe with some dusting off it will be just fine! I LOVE your blog! I might now have some time to read it...or at least for about 6 weeks. Love ya!

  9. Just found your blog and perusing...I adore color, have to have it! The neutral rooms are beautiful, however, I just can't "live" with them day to day. I would love for you to come & help me with a redo of my bedroom. Just can't decide ~ and you mix up the fabrics in a way that I LOVE! :-)

Gotta go check out more on this blog ~

  10. Oh your bedroom looks gorgeous! You already know how I feel about color vs. neutral....I go color...the neutral is beautiful to look at, but to "live" with it...would be boaring...color is much more fun!...however..how about neutrals with a little whimsy thrown around here and there???? I'm sure if anyone could do it...you could! Can't wait to see what you do! Nancy
