Do you ever marvel at the memories
associated with your senses?
Hearing ~ Taste ~ Smell ~ Touch ~ Sight
(Alamance County, NC)
I am a very visual person.
I don't know if it's age or
a lack of paying attention
but so many of my memories are
associated with photos.
(Alamance County, NC)
If we have pictures of an event, I am more
likely to remember it! Strange, I know!
(The Brick Church built in 1813)
These pictures are from our trip to
North Carolina this summer to visit family!
Born and raised in Virginia, I was a teenager
when my family moved to Oklahoma.
Later, my parents moved to North Carolina.
I have made a trip back to North Carolina
and/or Virginia almost every year
for over 30yrs.
(I know, Weird! But I like old cemeteries.)
I am the oldest of five with 3
of my siblings living in North Carolina.
My sister, Sheri, and I are the lone Okies.
Between the 5 of us, there
are 13 grandchildren...at present!
(My parents front porch.)
So, when you look at these
pictures you may see empty rockers.
Or empty chairs.
(I love this brick porch floor.)
But when I look at these photos...
(My Mom has been blessed with a green thumb!)
I can fill in the blanks.
I can fill in the memories.
I see the blessing of
FAMILY!
Wishing you all a sentimentally
Blessed Day!

Such a sweet post, Sonya. Thank Goodness for memories.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day! La
Beautiful photos, Sonya! I think I would probably be the same way. Love your parents porch and your Mom's garden. Just about all my family is here on Long Island. My parents had moved off for awhile, but my youngest sister and I convinced them they needed to come back since everyone was here {grandchildren and 3 of their 4 kids}. Now my other sister is looking to come back from Virginia, but she's been gone awhile and I'm afraid she will have sticker shock on the housing here!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures. Enjoyed your post...L.
