Window Treatments are a favorite of mine. But then, that is hardly a surprise to any of you!
How ever you choose to dress your windows, there is really nothing that compares to the change window treatments can make in warming up a space. Especially when installed in a room with bare windows.
Tricia didn't have bare windows. In fact, quite the opposite! But she was ready for a color change.
Before
These lovelies found a new home with a precious Beyond the Screen Door reader! Thank you!
Tricia loved the style of her previous panels so we decided to stay with a similar look but incorporate the new colors she's been adding through out her living areas...vibrant pinks, turquoise and greens.
As for the changes in the window panels, we lengthened the flap, added a 6" ruffle with 2 trims and increased the fullness by going from 1.5 widths to 2 full widths of fabric per panel. We hung the new panels several inches higher and increased the medallions to 5 in order to accommodate the wider width.
The fabrics used were an upholstery weight raspberry and chocolate damask for the panels, an apple green tone on tone paisley for the flap, my favorite chocolate brown velvet for the ruffle and 2 separate trims.
Here you can see both trims. The brown and turquoise ribbon fringe is one and the sweet, green and pink flat braid the second.
Stunning!
I am so lucky to get to work with such talented and creative friends! Tricia choose all her colors and fabrics. I can only claim helping her put them together and making the panels.
She is still tweaking her rooms. The medallions are all getting a darker bronze color to better go with the new fabrics. The floor lamp you see on the right is getting a new cover for it's shade. And you can see a peak of the new pillows she's added to her sofa.
I'm thinking I need to go back for some follow up pictures!
Wishing each and every one of you a Very Blessed Easter!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Sonya! You and Tricia worked well together on these. I love that chocolate brown velvet - just gorgeousness! A new shade for the lamp to the right? It looks wonderful to me, but I guess she wants to incorporate her new colors there, too.
ReplyDeleteSonya!!! Those are absolutely unbelievable! Talk about popping right off of the wall! The colors and textures are so rich and really create such a dramatic focal point.
