Karen purchased a table runner from me this past fall. A few months ago she wrote to ask if I would be interested in making another for her from her own fabric scraps.
I was so impressed when I opened her package. Karen not only sent all her fabric and trim but she had drawn out a diagram with how she wanted it laid out and the dimensions. That's half the battle!
I tweaked her design just a bit to better accommodate the patterns, which she gave me permissions to do. The end result is a beautiful, personally custom table runner that goes wonderfully with the other fabrics, patterns and colors in Karen's home.
This particular runner is 108" long (including the 6" ruffle on each end) x 21" wide. We used 7 trims and 8 different fabrics.
This is just one idea of what you could create with all your left over fabric scraps from window treatments, bedding, pillows or upholstery projects. I think that's why I have such a hard time throwing fabric scraps away! Just think of the possibilities!
