This is the photo that started it all.
Two daughters living 1500 miles apart. Two separate emails less than a week apart. Both with this photo attached!
One daughter about to move into her own place asking if I think this would work for her living room sofa and would I help make all the pillows and things.
One daughter newly married asking if I could make "a little simple skirt thing like she has on her couch"!
I got such a kick out of this! The funny thing is...I'm wondering where can I put one of these in my house!

Not only has this photo been such an inspiration but it's been the source of finding two new (new to me), amazing blogs.
First is the talented Kristin at My Uncommon Slice of Suburbia.

Kristin's blog is where we first saw the now famous photo of the daybed. But one stop by her blog and I was hooked by her talent and style!
In May 2011, Kristin wrote about Anita at Cedar Hill Ranch.

Not only was I hooked but it was LOVE at first sight when I saw Anita's ranch!
Now some of you may already be on a first name basis with these talented ladies and their blogs but I am a new acquaintance! I feel like I just received two gifts that I can't wait to unwrap! Layer by inspiring layer!
But don't just take my word for it. Go by and see for yourself! But make sure you have plenty of time to linger and browse and soak up all the inspiration. And don't miss the tours or photos of each of their homes. I'm thinking you'll be just as enchanted as I was!

Oh I love that daybed and those blogs. What fun that both girls were inspired by the same thing!
ReplyDeleteI've seen Kristin's blog, but not Anita's. What a beautiful inspiration daybed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for featuring those blogs...and good luck with the daybeds! I loved helping my daughter but she's fairly close-by. Can't imagine doing it if she were across the country!
ReplyDeleteI recently found Kristins blog and love it!
ReplyDeleteAren't you just the sweetest! Thank you for such kind words! I just love Anita's bed and I wish you luck with your's. Let me know when it's all finished :)

This daybed is gorgeous, and I can see why the girls both loved it! It's sort of like you and me living 1200 miles apart and buying the same shirt at Target. Sisters just do those kinds of things. :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love this story. I hope you will share us what you end up doing. I know it will be fabulous. You are too kind.
ReplyDeleteHi Sonya ~ must be genetics, right? How else could you explain it? Amazing story - amazing daybed. Just plain pretty. So nice of you to drop by my blog and leave such a thoughtful comment. I made the ruffled chair cover, it was really necessary - the chair cushion has a not- so-flattering gold colored fabric beneath! But later found that fabulous toss pillow at a wonderful shop in Fredericksburg TX called Home at Last. Anyway, it's wonderful to meet you and meet your blog too! take care, Diane
ReplyDeleteHow funny Sonya! Can I be one of your daughters too!? I need a slip cover for a wingback chair! Ha!! I found the chair for $35 but am hesitant to purchase it because I have no clue on how to cover it. I know what I want it to look like but am afraid it will sit in the garage forever.
ReplyDeleteHope your week is going well!
This is lovely! I want to be a daughter too! This is such a sweet story. I also love both blogs. It is so nice to "meet" such talented ladies that inspire us! Thank you for your lovely blog too!
ReplyDeleteHow funny! GMTA, right? I love both blogs and I think it's great that you featured them.

But then again, I think you are in the same league!
