Easy Delicious Salsa

When I thought about including recipes here at
 Beyond the Screen Door
I knew this would be the first one!

This is the most asked for recipe I have!
Probably because I make it ALL the time!
and It is SOOOO EASY!!!

This salsa is great
 ...for snacking,
...for parties,
 ...last minute get-togethers,
 ...with Mexican dinners

...and the ingredients make it so easy to always have on hand!

(Regardless of how it looks, this is not an ad for Wal-mart...
I just like to buy off-brand when I can!)

Salsa
                1 - 28oz can diced tomatoes
                2 - 14oz cans Rotel
                1 - 4oz can diced green chilies
                1 - 4oz can chopped black olives
                1 - T cilantro
                1 - T garlic salt
                optional:  jalapenos to taste
                              green onions to taste

I use dried cilantro because it's always on hand but fresh is just as great if not better!

My family does NOT like chunky salsa so for the next step we
place all the ingredients in a blender or food processor.
Blend for 4-5 seconds.
Note:  Do not over blend or salsa will be too thin and runny.

If I don't have this on hand ready to make
It's time to go to the store!

Enjoy!

Have a Deliciously Blessed Day!

  1. Thanks for the sweet note, I often wonder who is out there in blogland and do they even care if I post or not, so thanks for letting me know you are there. I loved your recipe, it looks and sounds like a winner.

  2. Thanks for the recipe! I'm going to try this...I think I can handle it actually. I know what you mean about Walmart. I'm there multiple times per week.

  3. Thanks for the great comment on the burp rags!! I read all of the blogs that I follow, and I always try to comment whenever I see something I like. Yes, it is kinda time consuming but I like seeing what everyone is making and always give support where it's due. That salsa looks delish! Never thought of using black olives. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Yours looks perfect for the winter when there the fresh tomatoes aren't as good, plus I could keep all the ingredients in my pantry to whip up at any time. Thanks!
