Pillows Week! Episode #4

Feather pillows are my pillow of choice.
I love the resiliency of a good feather pillow.
No matter how you abuse it by wallowing (is that a word?)
all over it...you can plump it back up to it's original shape!

Feather inserts are a little more expensive than your
average poly-fil pillow but definitely well worth it.

(If you're in the OK-TX area, Interior Fabrics/Cutting Corners
is the best source I've found for feather pillows.  But keep your eyes
open at discount stores like Tuesday Morning or TJ Maxx)

Here's one of a pair that sit on my sofa.

 These are 26"x26" feather pillows.
Again, I've added the double ruffle...

...with the contrasting fabric on the back.

Here's the same fabrics used on a 14"x20"

I love making this next style of pillow.

This is a feather bed pillow - 20"x26"
(insert found at TJ Maxx)
and can be made with up to 5 fabrics.
This particular pillow has 4 fabrics, 3 trims and a 2" ruffle.
The key to this style is a great focal fabric for the center.
It doesn't have quite the same effect if the center
fabric is just a regular all over pattern.
Toile works great as well as a floral bouquet fabric.

These two are both 14"x20" feather pillows
.
This size if often called a "kidney" pillow.
These are great to use in any size chair
including your dining room!

Do you get the idea that I might like ruffles???

Please join me tomorrow
 for our last episode of
Pillows Week!

And don't miss
Window Treatment Week!
starting Monday!

Have a Gloriously Blessed Day!

  4. These are wonderful {you must be tired of reading my comments saying that}! I just love these pillows you've shown us this week, Sonya. While pillows are one thing I will sew {and enjoy putting together when I have time}, any time you decide to sell pillows, just let me know! When you do your flat trim on the pillow front - do you use fabric glue or do you sew it down?
