If these walls could talk...
they would probably say
Thank you!!! Thank you!!!
Is this not simply stunning?
Such a beautifully layered paint treatment!
This treatment appears to be the work of an expert
faux painter but it's actually the creative genius
of the homeowner, Shelli!
Shelli used several shades of turquoise paint which
she brushed on in random patterns
finishing the top with a coppery metallic glaze.
There are at least 4 layers here...
maybe more!
Shelli's home is a warm and welcoming space that, as you enter,
gives you the faint feeling of another place and time.
The stonework in the entry continues this whimsy!
Again, she painted ALL this herself!
Shelli achieved this look by taping off her grout lines and
then treating each block as it's own individual canvas using
several shades of cream, tan, taupe and brown.
Very tedious.
Very time consuming.
But VERY worth the effort!
You can see three different wall treatments in these photos.
But they work together beautifully!
The intense rich color of the dining room,
paired with the incredibly textured look of the entry
is then offset by the more subtle glazing of the hall.
With Shelli, no surface is safe from her creative touch!
She even repainted the existing chandelier!
She is ONE TALENTED LADY!
So, if you're contimplating a change in your wall color
why not think in terms of layers and/or textures!
Who says all our walls need to be one dimensional!
Thank you, Shelli!
Have a Tremendously Blessed Day!

ReplyDeleteWow, this is pretty amazing. How do you find all of these creative people? Has Shelli ever painted over tile floors? I'm considering doing it, but am a bit chicken, okay, a lot chicken.
