That was when I promised you would see more of this
window treatment because I was going to include it in
Window Treatment Week!
Well, I'm not quite sure what to say!
Oops?
or So Sorry?
or It'll Never Happen Again?!?!
How about...
" Better Late than Never!"
So here we are!
When I first met with Pam, she had a good idea of how
she wanted to hang her window treatments.
She loved the idea of using large medallions to hang
"dead" panels on either side of her large wall of windows.
She wasn't sure about the rest of the details.
So, using this beautiful plaid silk she had fallen
in love with as our starting point
we then choose a coordinating apple green silk to
do a vertical band.
We finished it off with that gorgeous trim
which is a really FUN take on the traditional "brush fringe".
This fringe includes a tiny gold cording and multi-colored ribbons!
The panels are 1 & 1/2 widths wide each and lined with a thick
lining which is a combination interlining/poly-cotton.
We also used the solid green silk to line the top behind each
"droop" so you could see the coordinating color there as well.
We chose to mount the medallions between her windows and the
high transom windows above.
I just LOVE the difference
window treatments make in a room!
Pam called to say she is loving her new window treatments
but wants to take the room a step further.
I'm thinking a large area rug, another pillow
or two and maybe
a new warmer color for the walls!
(I probably just scared her half to death
with the thought of painting those 12' high walls!!!)
Here's to always being brave enough to
take things a step further!
In our lives as well as design!
Have a Courageously Blessed Day!

I adore these! The plaid silk is gorgeous and the trim is just scrumptious! I had dummy panels in my family room that I hung this same way...from knobs...they weren't in my photos because I am having new ones made. I love hanging them this way because it gives an otherwise formal curtain a more casual look!
ReplyDeleteI love your ideas for her room! Share the pics if she makes the changes;)!
Enjoy!
Cathy
So pretty! I haven't seen many window treatments hung like this from the medallions, and I L-O-V-E it. And I agree, this room is just screaming for a rug :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous window treatments! I love the beautiful fringe!
ReplyDeleteThe window treatments are very pretty. I love all of her windows.
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea to put the other silk in the "droops". I agree about the area rug and paint--if anyone can get her to do it, you can ;).
ReplyDeleteI have been going through your blog enjoying your curtains etc. I had my own interior decorating business for years specializing in window treatments which I made and installed...so it is so much fun to see them again and be inspired. My life took some changes with six children and home schooling...thanks for letting me glean from your beautiful work...it inspires my creativeness!!

ReplyDeleteAgain another beautiful creation! I hope you do not mind and if you do I will take it off but I am doing a post and have included one of your treatments in it that I am thinking of doing in my living room. If you want I can just do a link, which I am including as well, and take off the pic but I am really hoping you don't mind. Just let me know if it bothers ya and i will fix it ASAP!
