Jan's Christmas

I'll feel like Christmas is already in full swing with so many of you! For myself, I haven't even gotten the boxes out of the attic yet! But I have decorated! For the past five years, Jan has hired me to decorate her beautiful home for Christmas!

Each year Jan pulls out her Christmas decor, loads the pool table with all her Christmas items and give me free reign to decorate 'till me heart's content! When I arrive, the pool table is overflowing with all sorts of Christmas ranging from traditional, to vintage, to sports related and a little something new each year.
This year the tree's color scheme was lime green, traditional red, gold and cobalt blue. Jan has an amazing collection of blue transferware dishes. I think the blue on the tree works well with her collection.

Her amazing living room boasts a HUGE stone fireplace, vaulted wood ceilings and beautiful brick floors. The fireplace is flanked by two antique lanterns.
I can't tell you how many times I went up and down...and UP and DOWN that ladder! (before)

But it was worth it! The lime green and red plaid wide mesh netting was a new addition to the wreath this year.  Look at the size of that fireplace opening! Gorgeous!

In the entryway, where Jan keeps her baby grand piano, we have a more natural decorating theme.

I love the elegant look of a simple collection of rustic trees decorated only with clear twinkle lights.

The decorating was rounded out with a sports themed tree in the pool room and Jan's husband's collection of Santas displayed in the dining room hutch.
Thank you, Jan, for letting me share a few glimpses of your holiday decor!

Is your Christmas decorating complete? Or have you yet to start like me?

Many Blessings,
Remember to check out the Christmas items in the

  1. Sonya,
All the decorations are beautiful. It was worth all the step arobics... the mantle is GORGEOUS!!!! How I would love for you to decorate my home. That wreath is so lush and oppulent!
I just may borrow the trees in the foyer idea. They would make such an inviting and fun way to greet people.

I just put all of my Thanksgiving things away yesterday. I'll begin decorating this week. I love the process as much as the finished product. So I enjoy taking my time and "puttering".

I can't wait to see more. You are so gifted!

  4. Very pretty, Sonya! That wire mesh idea might work in my tree, as I'm trying to figure out what to tuck in that I haven't done before. Her fireplace is just gorgeous and must be decorated quite beautifully all year long!

  6. I love decorating other peoples houses for Xmas, although I haven't in a few years...it is really fun. I did a snow tree one year in a foyer...all white lights and piles of fake snow and some little fake birds on the tree, it was beautiful.

  9. Oh, how fun! I'm a sucker for lime green ;). I need to advertise to do Christmas decor! Everything looks wonderful. I love the shot you captured with the trees and piano in the background right to the plaques on the wall - great composition. Blessings, friend.

  11. Hi Sonya! It all looks so absolutely amazing and what fun to get to try new things in someone else's home! That is getting the best of both worlds as far as I'm concerned. I can't wait to see your own lovely home all dressed to the nines! :-)

  13. I haven't started either... I need to get into the 'mode' and can only handle the 'extra' decorations in my house for a few weeks at most, so don't want to start too early! By the time January 1st rolls around - I can't wait to get it all OUT of my rooms! Except for the lighted candles in the windows... those are my 'winter' decorations and they can even stay through February ;)

The rooms in your clients home look lovely - I love all the multi colored and sparkly balls ;)

  18. Oh I can well IMAGINE how many times you went up and down that ladder. :)

Glad to hear that your own home isn't decorated yet. It can't be rushed. I live my decor up until Epiphany (Jan. 6th) so it's ok.

Thank you from the bottom of my corsage making heart for your kind comments.
