Wedding Invitations and Programs

As I sit here writing this post, I'm thinking I've done this a bit backwards. This is my last wedding post (for the time being) and it's about the invitations! Just a bit backwards. See Wedding on sidebar for previous posts.
With a lot of help from her future brother-in-law, Tyler, Courtney and Drew designed the invitations. Courtney knew the look she wanted for the invitations and Tyler helped her with the graphics.
The invitations were printed with black ink on pale gray cardstock, 4.25" x 11". Each invitation included a reply card printed on kraft paper. The invitations were then wrapped with a tea stained doily, tied with twine and mailed in a kraft paper envelope.
Courtney used two different doilies for the invitations.  12" white heart shaped, doilies from Hobby Lobby's Valentine decor and 12" white round doilies. Courtney tea stained each doily by dipping the doilies in a tea and water mixture she poured in a large shallow pan. The doilies were then left to air dry. Each doily was then carefully folded around the printed invitations. We loved the way they turned out!

The kraft paper theme continued with the programs.

The programs consisted of three layers. The top two being printed on kraft paper with the bottom layer a solid black cardstock, which helped the program be a bit more sturdy. The layers were tied together with three different colors of Hug Snug ribbon...mushroom, walnut and charcoal gray...found at Zipperstop.com.
Courtney designed the programs. I love the creative way she wrote the order of the ceremony. The second page listed each member of the bridal party and their relationship to the bride or groom.
Invitations were printed by Paper and Thread Studios. We were able to handle all the ordering online and by email. Lori was wonderful to work with and we highly recommend her work. We printed the programs ourselves.

Thank you so much for reading along with all the wedding details! My plan is to share just a few more projects, sometime in the near future, when the last of the wedding photos arrive!

Until then...how about some customized Pottery Barn window treatments? Coming soon!

  4. The invitations and programs were so pretty...so many special details that added the "Courtney" charm. :)

(I'm embarrassed to admit I didn't realize the program was actually the order of the ceremony. Now that I look at it again, I get it. Apparently school has turned my brain to mush. :)
